Nerf Bars

So you are looking for some nerf bars, sometimes called step bars for your vehicle. We have them split into four different categories for you to choose from:

  • Stainless Nerf Bars
  • Black Nerf Bars
  • Oval Nerf Bars
  • Wheel to Wheel Nerf Bars

Some people make the costly mistake of buying nerf bars from the dealership when purchasing a new vehicle. They will usually charge $700-$900 for a set of OEM nerf bars. Our nerf bars are a fraction of the cost and will provide everything that you're looking for.

Now you are probably wondering which nerf bars are the best for you. Depending on what you are looking for, we have several recommendations.

Nerf bars do come in different shapes and sizes. Most are designed to run the length of the cab, except for the wheel to wheel(W2W) nerf bars. The most popular are the 3"(diameter) which are pretty much the standard bar. Some do prefer a thicker bar - 4" and 5" are available in round or oval. New to the industry is the 6" oval which have become popular.

With the way brackets are mounted on different vehicles, the 'bend' of the bar will vary. Some could have 45 degree bends on the end of each bar. Others could have 90 degree bend on both ends. Some are even 90 degrees on one end and straight on the other.

Stainless Nerf Bars

Stainless Nerf Bars are among some of the longest lasting products that you can purchase for your vehicle. If you take care of your bars, they will give you a life that will last the length of your vehicle. Most of these bars come with black powedercoated brackets. That won't be a problem for most people, however, if you're in an environment where salt is on the roads - you want to consider an 'all-stainless' application. 'All-stainless' simply means that the hardware and brackets will also be stainless. These come with a lifetime warranty and a great look for any truck.

Black Nerf Bars

Black nerf bars are generally cheaper than their stainless counterparts. They are a great addition that usually matches trim or at least something on the vehicle. Black nerf bars come with black powdercoated brackets to match. The N-Fab nerf bars are the most popular of this category because of the 'drop-down' style step.

Oval Nerf Bars

If you're looking for something a little larger, oval nerf bars are the way to go. They range from a 4" to a 6" wide step as opposed to the 3" standard nerf bar. Some people worry when they see the Railway Nerf Bars or the Voyager Nerf Bars because of the word 'plastic'. "Oh, that can't be strong" ...or... "those will rust in a week". WRONG. These are chrome over plastic which cannot rust. They are also some of the strongest bars that we offer.

Wheel to Wheel Nerf Bars

Sometimes you want to be able to step up to your truck bed easily to grab something or look inside your toolbox. Wheel to wheel step bars are the perfect nerf bars for you. They have an additional step pad next to the front of your truck bed for the easy truck bed access.

Where's the Chrome?

You might be considering chrome finish or stainless steel. Chrome is the brighter finish coming out of the box, but with all chrome, it is just a layer over another metal that can diminish, fade, and eventually flake off. If you want chrome bars to match the rest of your vehicle, just realize that the bright shine will wear out much faster than stainless. Stainless steel often times will be mistaken for chrome because of its 'mirror-like' finish. It can look that way with a great polishing job by the factory. Consider that stainless will be different depending on the manufacturer.
