Ionic uses top quality 304L stainless steel and it is polished to a mirror-like finish that almost looks like chrome. It is actually superior to a chrome plated finish, because chrome can chip and flake off over time. This stainless alloy and finish will look fantastic on your truck for years and years! Don't settle for the cheaper stainless alloys out there, like 200 grade stainless, which is barely stainless, and will easily pit. These bars are stainless all the way through.

Ionic also uses RECESSED step pads (not cut out) that prevent slipping in almost any weather. The recess also means the integrity (strength) of the nerf bar isn't compromised. Speaking of strength, these exceptional bars will support up to 300 lbs before flexing and 350 lbs before bending. The price for all Ionic nerf bars are for a pair (2).

Regular cab trucks have a single step pad on each bar, while most others have two step pads per bar.

The STYLE of the nerf bars will vary depending on your truck/SUV.
Some vehicles get nerf bars that have a 90 degree bend on both ends.

Some vehicles get bars that are bent to 45 degrees on both ends.

Some vehicles get bars that are bent to 90 degrees on one end and are straight at the rear.

Q: How much weight will the bars support?
A: They are rated at 300 lbs before flexing and 350 lbs before bending.

Q: What is the warranty on the stainless steel?
A: The stainless steel is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Q: What material are the brackets made of?
A: They are made of galvanized steel with a black powder coat finish.

Q: Is there any drilling required to install?
A: Most applications are a no drill installation. Only the Jeep CJ
1997-1986, Jeep Wrangler 1997-2006, Ford F150 Super Cab and Reg Cab
1997-1998, and the Ford Ranger (some models) require drilling.

Q: How low will the bars sit off the vehicle?
A: Typically, they will have a standard 2" drop.

Almost all of the Ionic Nerf Bars have a no-drill installation. There are only a few exceptions that you will find in our Q&A section. In the package with the two bars, you will receive 'vehicle specific' brackets and bolts that will ensure an easy installtion. Each set is made and tested to custom fit your vehicle. Most of the reviews that we get from customers say that it takes somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
